Fall River, home to strong historic ties and modern community life, also has strong educational institutions. In a family-driven town, it is extremely important to acknowledge and appreciate those who make the schooling foundations strong. We have gathered a list of some of the top public schools in Fall River, home to Highland Farms.

Spencer Borden Elementary School, located on President Avenue, is only a brief 4-minute drive from Highland Farms and hosts approximately 550 students. Recognizing the importance of childhood dvelopment, the Spencer Borden School works in conjunction with staff, students, parents, and the general community to produce healthy, caring, lifelong learners. They strive for students to not only succeed within the classrooms, but also a broader understanding of the world and personal growth within oneself as well as the greater community. The school focuses on four key messages

These key messages begin within each student to develop confidence and to assist these students in self-growth and appreciation for the academics. The school demonstrates strong academic performance by ranking better than 61% of elementary schools in the state of Massachusetts.

Matthew J. Kuss Middle School, nestled on Globe Mills Avenue, a quick 10-minute drive from Highland Farms, is considered the top middle school in Fall River. With approximately 725 students in grade 6-8, the schools kept a strong student-teacher ratio of 13:1. The school is ranked 5,784 of 25,960 for Most Diverse Public Middle School in America and ranked 126 of 449 for Most Diverse Public Middle School in Massachusetts. They also maintain a strong ranking nationally and state-wide for Best Public Middle School Teachers. Matthew J. Kuss school has continued outstanding academic levels with 65% of their students scoring above proficient reading levels and 47% scoring above proficient mathematic levels.


Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School, on Stonehaven Road, an 8-minute drive from Highland Farms, is a public 9-12 high school home to approximately 1,407 students. With a 10:1 student-teacher ratio, the school has exceptional state test scores, with 78% of the students scoring above proficient levels in mathematics and 94% scoring above proficient reading levels. The school, in addition, is ranked 164 of 351 for Best Public High School in Massachusetts. On average, the graduation rate is 97%, SAT score is 1040, and ACT score is 24. The school has an outstanding extra-curricular environment with 94% of students participating in athletics and 82% of students participating in creative and artsy opportunities.
